Accepted File Types
You can add many file types divided in three categories, you have sources, resources and Gaussian Splatting files, sources are basically your point clouds and resources are 3d models or secondary point clouds, the difference between the two is pretty simple, you will be able to move a resource whereas a source will stay fixed in the 3D application. Gaussian Splatting files are a category of their own, described further down this article.
Please note that depending on your subscription, by default the maximum size per file is up to 200GB, if you have a file greater than 200GB please contact support to increase that limit. For the moment being, it can go up to 1.4TB per file and even more if it is needed. 3D models are limited to 200MB per file, if you need to import large models, make sure you import multiple models that are each lighter than 200MB.

- Shape File (zip format) : The zip should contain at least 3 files, the SHP, the SHX and the DBF. Make sure those 3 files all have the same name.

Gaussian Splatting files:
- PLY (a Gaussian Splatting PLY, not a mesh or a point cloud PLY)
- SPZ
- SPLAT
- KSPLAT
- SOG
- XGRIDS LCC and LCC2 projects (via ZIP)
These formats are all accepted by the platform and you do not have to say which one you are sending: when you add the file, it is recognized on its own and prepared as a Gaussian Splat. PLY is the one case worth knowing about, since meshes, point clouds and Gaussian Splatting files all use that extension: the platform reads the file to tell them apart, so a Gaussian Splatting PLY is handled as a Gaussian Splat while a mesh PLY stays a 3D model.
A Gaussian Splatting file can sit in the same project as your point clouds and your 3D models. Once it is ready, open the 3D application to see it, then use its panel to move, rotate, scale, lock or hide it, and to change its opacity, like any other object.
Two limits apply to XGRIDS Gaussian Splatting data. They come from the XGRIDS tools used to produce that data, not from the platform, so they cannot be removed on our side:
- Only one XGRIDS Gaussian Splatting file (LCC or LCC2) can be displayed per project.
- Only one clipping box applies to it. Additional boxes keep working on your point clouds and your 3D models.

Please note that every other file format will not be working as source or resource, it will be saved as "other file" and you will therefore not be able to see it in the 3D application.
