Calculating Density

The density tool allows you to obtain an average density in an area.

To drop an area into the viewer, click the magnifying glass icon and select the dot density option. Then click anywhere on the point cloud to drop the area.

The area is 50 cm long and the density is calculated in points per square meter, which means that in the displayed area it is a quarter of the advertised points. If you see a yellow box around the dot density value, it means it is still loading dots and this is not the final value. Once the yellow box is gone, the points are all loaded.

To move the area, click once on it to attach the area to your mouse, it will turn yellow again, click again to release it, it will turn black again.
