Scan-to-Plan

Scan-to-Plan turns a point cloud into an editable 2D floor plan. It is the fast path when the deliverable is a plan, not a full BIM model. The tab is available with the Scan-to-Plan plan.

The Scan-to-Plan tab

The tab reads like the workflow, left to right:

  1. Source: load and manage the point cloud (see Load point clouds). Use the crop box and the level detection to isolate the storey you want (see Crop box and Automatic level detection).
  2. Analysis: launch the Scan-to-Plan analysis on the loaded cloud. The job runs on the platform; its progress is reported in the panel, and the editor stays usable meanwhile.
  3. Review: the analysis returns wall candidates, not a take-it-or-leave-it result. The guided review walks you through them so you accept, adjust or reject each one, storey by storey.
  4. Build: the full 2D toolset (Wall, Door, Window, Room and the rest of the Home tab) to complete what the analysis could not see.
  5. Export 2D: hand over the result as PDF, DXF or DWG (see Export to PDF and Export DWG and DXF).

The generated plan is a working document: review it and complete it before using it for legal or contractual purposes.
