Export DWG and DXF files
Export
Open the Output tab and click Export DXF or Export DWG in the Export 2D group. The file downloads with your project name.
What lands in the file
- Content you imported from a DWG or DXF passes back through as it came in. The editor keeps the original entities of everything you did not modify, so a drawing you imported, annotated and re-exported stays faithful to its source.
- Objects you drew in ATIS.cad export as standard 2D geometry. Walls, for example, are written as their axis polylines on the A-WALL layer, in meters. BIM-specific data (door swings, wall thickness, room areas) is simplified or left out of DXF and DWG, because those formats have no standard place for it.
- Dimensions: aligned dimensions are written as native DXF dimensions; imported dimension blocks that you never exploded travel back as the blocks they came from.
