Create, save and open projects
The project file
An ATIS.cad project is saved as a single .cad.json file. It contains everything: levels, layers, walls and other objects, annotations and project settings. Keep it with your other project documents, it is the file you will reopen to continue working.
Save and reopen
- Click Save in the quick access toolbar to download the current project as a .cad.json file.
- Click Open and pick a .cad.json file to load it back.
DWG, DXF, PDF and IFC are exchange formats, not the working file: use them to share with other software, and keep the .cad.json as your source. Import and export are covered in their own articles.
The editor also keeps an autosave in your browser. If the tab closes unexpectedly, your work is restored from it the next time you open the editor, and the status bar reads "Restored from autosave."
Start a new project
Click New in the quick access toolbar to start from an empty drawing, with the default level and layers ready.
You can also start from a template: open the Manage tab, pick a template in the Project group, then click Create from template.
